With the reboot of ‘Sex and the City’ officially underway, it’s a good time to remember the most iconic wedding dresses from the renowned series. Except for Samantha Jones, the other 3 protagonists had their moment at the altar and their outfit choices were completely different. Each one true to their style, Charlotte, Carrie and Miranda embodied in their bridal design the most characteristic traits of their personality.

Charlotte York & Trey MacDougal:

The first wedding we had the pleasure of witnessing was Charlotte York’s with Trey MacDougal. After a quirky proposal and the subsequent ring bought at Tiffany’s, Charlotte and Trey said yes I do at Holy Trinity Church on the Upper East Side (Episode 12 of Season 3). The dress she was wearing was a Vera Wang design with a princess silhouette and strapless, decorated with lace flowers. The tail was extremely long and was combined with a beautiful veil, combined with the elegance and solemnity of the jewels.

Charlotte York & Harry Goldenblatt:

After parting ways with Trey MacDougal, Charlotte married precisely her divorce attorney, Harry Goldenblatt. During their relationship, she converted to Judaism and the wedding followed the characteristic canons of the Jewish tradition. Her lace-trimmed, bias-cut gown was a Badgley Mischka design, which the bride wore with a shoulder-length veil and dangling diamond earrings.

Miranda Hobbes & Steve Brady

The best ‘Sex and the City’ couple, hands down. After years of back and forth, Miranda and Steve finally realize how much they love each other and decide to get married. Once again, Miranda’s choice is the right one: a burgundy velvet ensemble designed by the show’s wardrobe manager, Patricia Field, paired with a corsage in the same shades as the suit.

Carrie Bradshaw & Mr Big (first try):

After 10 years of dating, Carrie & John Preston (better known as Big) are getting married. The dress that the protagonist wears is a gift from Vivienne Westwood, previously seen in a Vogue US shooting and with a very vintage silhouette. Carrie adds her personal touch by adding a turquoise feather headdress and a bouquet of roses. The bouquet is precisely one of the most iconic elements of the wedding, as it ends up shattered on Big’s head after his ridiculous escape from the church.

Carrie Bradshaw & Mr Big (definitive intent):

When the first movie ends, Carrie & Mr Big give themselves a second try, this time the final one. With a much more casual and informal vibe, the star couple of ‘Sex and the City’ is getting married in civilian clothes, without guests and with Carrie wearing a much less extravagant dress. The suit she wears is a vintage design from the 1999 John Galliano collection, combined with the most transcendent shoes in the entire history of the series: the Manolo Blahnik Hangisi 105.
